Interesting interview today. Led Zeppelin have been my favourite band since I did a 24 hour sponsored art class event at school in Cyprus in 1973. The girl beside me brought a record deck and her Led Zep albums and played them back to back for the full 24 hours. Heaven. She wasn’t bad too…
I saw them at Knebworth in 1979. I had tickets for both dates and elected to go to the first and sold tickets to the second to my brother. I got Todd Rundgren and Utopia as support and my brother got the New Barbarians which was the Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger, as support…*@$! but Utopia were good.
Because of Led Zep and Jimmy Page I got briefly interested in Black Magic; I read biographies on Aleister Crowley and similar books for a few years, but being an atheist, and a cynic I soon ditched that interest as drug fuelled garbage. I always found it fascinating that Jimmy Page owned Crowley’s house on the edge of Loch Ness.
A book for my Christmas list.
The idea of supporting hobbies for a writer is one I buy into; for me these are; learning the guitar and urban sketching. The latter would be my suggestion for Zach to look at; urban sketching is hot right now and hugely pleasing and doesn’t require art skills, only practice. It can be done alone or in groups and in situ or using photos – useful when it’s cold or raining.
    Loved the interview today.

Haven’t heard the episode yet – but wanted to tell JD that Lowes may not be any better for home improvement. We have been struggling with them for 2 weeks to get the right storm door and get it installed.
