Thank you SO much for this interview and for shedding more light on the backstory of the Audible returns policy. Kudos to Susan May! I have 32 audiobooks with ACX; I (and all ACX authors) received an email from ACX earlier today (11/24/20) stating “moving forward and effective as of January 1, 2021, Audible will pay royalties for any title returned more than 7 days following purchase.” I emailed ACX to say additionally, I expect a “returns” column to be added to my royalty reports, versus reporting only net sales. I hope other ACX authors do the same.

Seems like ACX is scrambling right now. And I don’t think they’ve said anything about a returns column which begs the question, “How do we know when the book was returned?”
