Interesting interview today. Love the way Alexander and Alexandra ‘discuss’ who wrote which word then drop it before it gets argumentative. They have a great relationship, writing and life. I bet some writers dream of a similar writing relationship with their partner.
I wonder if the predominance of audio books in some areas but not others is a practical thing – long commutes and drives; and a cultural thing – substitute for radio which can be pretty boring. And, if it is a new market – attracting customers who wouldn’t ordinarily buy a book.
Always fascinated by translations. It’s impossible to exactly translate a meaning or nuance which uses cultural references because they don’t usually translate. For example a reference to American Football, or Baseball would not be recognised by many in Europe because they are not widely played over here.
“Listen to the story…” Totally agree. A great story tells the writer what should happen. Story is King.
    Great show today.
